Solar home system kits distributed in three Sindh districts

SUKKUR - Distribution ceremonies for solar home system kits were held in Larkana, Jacobabad and Dadu districts under the ‘Roshan Ghar – Roshan Sindh’ programme on Saturday.

Distribution Details

During the ceremonies, solar home system kits were provided to 62 eligible households. The activity was carried out under the Solar Home System (On-Grid/Off-Grid) project, which is funded by the Government of Sindh’s Energy Department and implemented by the Sindh Rural Support Organisation (SRSO).

The project aims to provide reliable, affordable and sustainable energy facilities to 275,000 households across Sindh through on-grid and off-grid solar technology, selected through a transparent process.

Transparent Verification Process

In this phase, the solar home system kits were handed over to eligible beneficiaries after a transparent verification and scrutiny process. Pre-distribution surveys, verification and approval of all beneficiaries were conducted according to the eligibility criteria set by the Government of Sindh’s Solar Energy Programme.

Solar home system kits were provided to 9 eligible households in Larkana district, 9 in Jacobabad district and 44 in Dadu district.

Beneficiary Training

Before distribution, beneficiaries were given awareness training on proper installation, use and maintenance of the solar home systems to ensure they could derive maximum benefit from the facility and guarantee the long-term durability of the equipment.
