Vehari DC Reviews Multan Road Project Progress, Deadlines Set

VEHARI - Deputy Commissioner Vehari Khalid Javed Goraya chaired a high-level meeting to review the progress of the under-construction Vehari–Multan Road project. During the meeting, officials presented a detailed briefing on the ongoing construction work and measures being taken to ensure completion of the project within the stipulated timeframe.

Deputy Commissioner's Directives

Addressing the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Khalid Javed Goraya directed the concerned departments to ensure timely completion of the road project, stating that the construction of Vehari–Multan Road is among the top priorities of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif. He instructed officials to expedite allied development works, including the installation of street lights and paver tiles, construction of drains and public waiting areas, and plantation along both sides of the road.

The Deputy Commissioner emphasized that quality and transparency must be ensured at every stage of the project and warned that any negligence or delay in the execution of work would not be tolerated.

Project Timeline and Allied Works

During the briefing, Executive Engineer Highways Rana Umair Latif informed the meeting that the main road construction project would be completed by June 30, 2026, while all allied works, including improvement of major chowks, plantation, service roads, beautification and other finishing activities, would be completed by July 30, 2026.

ADC (Finance & Planning) and Deputy Director Development Muhammad Afzal also briefed the participants on the availability of development funds and the progress of other ongoing development schemes across the district. He stated that, besides the Vehari–Multan Road project, work on various development initiatives throughout the district was being carried out with dedication and commitment to accelerate public welfare and infrastructure improvement.

Among others, ADC (Finance & Planning) Muhammad Afzal, Executive Engineer Highways Rana Umair Latif, the Forest Officer and officers from relevant departments attended the meeting.
