World Environment Day in Sialkot with Walk and Plantation

World Environment Day was observed in Sialkot on Friday with an awareness walk, led by Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Abbas Zulqarnain at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office.

Participation and Purpose

According to district administration officials, officers and staff of the Environment Protection Department, Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA), Rescue 1122, district administration, and a large number of citizens participated in the walk. Abbas Zulqarnain said the purpose of observing World Environment Day was to raise awareness about environmental protection, tree plantation, and the sustainable use of natural resources. He added that climate change posed a serious global challenge and required collective efforts to address its impacts.

Tree Plantation and Commitment

Later, participants planted saplings in the Deputy Commissioner’s Office lawn and reaffirmed their commitment to promoting a clean, green, and pollution-free environment for future generations. The event highlighted the importance of individual and community actions in combating environmental degradation.
