ANF Arrests 11, Seizes 42.77 kg Narcotics in Nationwide Raids

The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) conducted seven operations across Pakistan on Friday, resulting in the arrest of 11 suspects, including six women, and the seizure of 42.77 kg of narcotics valued at over Rs10.4 million. According to an ANF spokesman, the operations targeted both international and domestic drug trafficking networks.

Major Seizures at Airports

At Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore, ANF recovered 19.66 kg of ice (methamphetamine) soaked into clothes packed in the luggage of a male passenger and arrested four women suspects traveling to Saudi Arabia. In another operation at the same airport, 11.502 kg of ice concealed in clothes was seized from the luggage of a male and a female passenger bound for Saudi Arabia, leading to their arrest.

ANF also recovered 108 ice-filled capsules weighing 580 grams from the abdomen of a male passenger and 70 heroin-filled capsules weighing 227 grams from a female passenger traveling to Saudi Arabia via Allama Iqbal International Airport. At Multan International Airport, 84 heroin-filled capsules weighing 558 grams were recovered from the abdomen of a passenger traveling to Dubai, who was subsequently arrested.

Operations in Karachi and Other Cities

In a separate operation at the cargo shed of Jinnah International Airport, Karachi, ANF recovered 650 grams of ice soaked into a buckram sheet concealed in a parcel destined for Saudi Arabia. Under its domestic interdiction campaign, ANF seized 8.4 kg of hashish from a rickshaw near Shabqadar in Charsadda district and arrested the suspect. In another operation at a cargo shed in Sialkot, ANF recovered 1.2 kg of hashish concealed inside a speaker and apprehended an individual involved in the smuggling attempt.

Cases have been registered against the accused under the Control of Narcotic Substances Act, 1997, while further investigations are underway.
