FBR Offices Open on Weekend for Tax Collection

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has announced that all its field formations will observe normal working hours on June 27 and 28, 2026 (Saturday and Sunday), to facilitate the collection of duties and taxes. According to an FBR notification issued on Friday, the extended working hours will also be observed on June 29 and 30, 2026 (Monday and Tuesday), to ensure maximum revenue collection before the close of the fiscal year.

Extended Hours for Revenue Maximization

The board directed all FBR field offices, including Large Taxpayers’ Offices (LTOs), Medium Taxpayers’ Offices (MTOs), Corporate Tax Offices (CTOs), and Regional Tax Offices (RTOs) across the country to remain operational during these days. This measure is aimed at facilitating taxpayers in meeting their tax obligations before the end of the fiscal year.

Offices Directed to Ensure Smooth Operations

The notification further stated that all field formations must ensure smooth operations and provide necessary assistance to taxpayers. The FBR's decision comes as part of its efforts to boost revenue collection and meet the annual tax targets.
