Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has implemented daily traffic diversions on Murree Road towards the Expressway from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. to ensure smooth traffic flow during peak morning rush hours. An ITP official confirmed the measure on Wednesday, stating that special traffic management measures have been put in place across the federal capital.
Deployment of Additional Officers
Traffic officers have been deployed on major roads and busy intersections to facilitate commuters and minimize congestion. The official noted that the daily diversions on Murree Road are aimed at maintaining uninterrupted traffic flow towards the Expressway during office hours, when traffic volume is at its highest.
According to the official, additional traffic officers have been stationed at key arteries and congestion-prone locations to regulate traffic and provide timely assistance to motorists. These measures are part of a broader effort to improve commuting conditions in Islamabad.
Impact on Commuters
While the diversions may cause minor delays for some drivers, the ITP expects the overall impact to be positive, reducing travel time for the majority of commuters heading towards the Expressway. The police have urged motorists to plan their routes accordingly and follow the guidance of traffic personnel.
In a related development, workers of the Suthra Punjab program staged a protest in Islamabad, demanding payment of their overdue salaries. The protest, which took place near a government office, highlighted ongoing issues with wage disbursement for sanitation workers.
