Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has described the Sindh budget for the fiscal year 2026-27 as people-friendly, balanced, and reflective of the province's development priorities. In a statement, the minister emphasized that the Pakistan Peoples Party-led Sindh government has consistently prioritized public welfare, employment, education, healthcare, infrastructure, and economic development.
Sharjeel expressed confidence that the budget would serve as a strong foundation for Sindh's bright future, economic stability, and public prosperity. "The tax-free budget carries a message of relief, development, and prosperity for the people of Sindh," he stated, noting that the increase in the minimum wage from Rs40,000 to Rs43,000 is a crucial and welcome step for the welfare of the working class.
The minister highlighted that the Sindh government's development vision is not limited to announcements but is supported by practical measures. He pointed to the record development investment of over Rs900 billion during the last fiscal year as evidence of this commitment.
Sindh People's Housing Program
Sharjeel Inam Memon called the Sindh People's Housing Program a unique public welfare initiative in Pakistan's history, through which millions of families are being provided with their own homes. He said the program reflects the government's dedication to improving living standards.
Emphasis on Education and Healthcare
Education and healthcare remain among the top priorities of the provincial government, with substantial allocations made in the budget for these sectors. Special emphasis has been placed on the construction of schools, recruitment of teachers, provision of modern medical facilities, and expansion of healthcare institutions, he added.
The minister reiterated that the budget is designed to ensure inclusive growth and uplift the lives of all citizens, particularly the underprivileged segments of society.
