Kuwait's Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy announced on Wednesday that power supply had been fully restored to all residential areas affected by outages. The disruptions were caused by several overhead transmission lines going out of service, leading to scattered electricity cuts across the country.
Restoration Efforts in Kuwait
The ministry stated that teams completed work to re-feed the affected areas from the electricity grid, bringing supply back to normal. Earlier, the ministry had confirmed that multiple power transmission lines had failed, prompting an approved emergency plan. Teams were deployed to determine the root cause and restore service as quickly as possible.
According to the ministry, the outages hit scattered residential zones, but no specific numbers of affected households were provided. The emergency response focused on rerouting power from other parts of the grid to minimize disruption duration.
Bahrain's Limited Outage Resolved
Separately, Bahrain's Electricity and Water Authority reported that it had dealt with a limited power outage affecting several areas of the kingdom. The authority confirmed that service was fully restored to all affected locations, as per the state news agency BNA. No further details on the cause or extent of the outage were released.
Both countries have experienced periodic power challenges due to high summer demand and infrastructure strain. The quick restoration in both cases underscores the readiness of emergency protocols.
