LAHORE: Traffic on a section of the M-5 Motorway will remain suspended for eight hours each on Monday and Tuesday due to repair and restoration work on high-transmission towers and power lines being carried out by the Multan Electric Power Company (Mepco). According to a spokesperson for Motorway Police Central Region, the Iqbalabad-Guddu section will remain closed from 9am to 5pm on both days. Traffic at Guddu and Iqbalabad interchanges will also remain suspended during the period.
Motorway police have advised commuters to plan their journeys accordingly and use alternative routes to avoid inconvenience. The repair work is essential to ensure the safety and reliability of the power transmission infrastructure in the region.
