Tehran: Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei has stated that all current events in the region are part of a US plan, emphasizing that Washington must cease its support for Israel if diplomatic negotiations are to succeed. During his weekly press briefing, Baghaei highlighted that the Lebanon ceasefire agreement is crucial for regional stability. However, he accused the United States of being responsible for recent violations of the agreement, asserting that Israel's actions cannot be separated from American policies.
US Accused of Fueling Tensions
Baghaei declared unequivocally that “everything that is happening is part of US planning” and accused Washington of contributing to renewed tensions in the region. Addressing alleged violations of the ceasefire in Lebanon, the Iranian spokesperson strongly criticized the United States, holding it directly accountable for the situation. He noted that Israel does not respect negotiations and continues to breach diplomatic agreements, a trend that could seriously undermine any future diplomatic engagement involving the United States.
Iran's Stance on Diplomacy
During the press conference, Baghaei reiterated that Iran seeks an end to the conflict but claimed that Israel persists in disregarding diplomatic principles and agreements. He stressed that no party would be allowed to undermine any provision of an agreement. Commenting on the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Baghaei said the agency’s leadership is ignoring the realities on the ground in the region. He warned that if the organization adopts a political narrative, its credibility could be damaged.
Rejection of False Reports
The Iranian spokesperson also firmly rejected reports alleging that Iran had launched an attack on Saudi Arabia. He stated that Iran’s armed forces had carried out no such operation against the Kingdom. Baghaei concluded by reaffirming that Iran remains fully prepared to defend its national security and interests at all times.
