MUZAFFARGARH - Superintendent Engineer of MEPCO Operation Circle Muzaffargarh, Engineer Muhammad Waseem Akhtar Bhutta, has announced that inspection, repair, and safety enhancement work on electrical installations near Muharram processions, Tazia routes, Imambargahs, and congregation venues is being carried out on a priority basis. This initiative aims to ensure an uninterrupted electricity supply during Ashura.
Coordination with Stakeholders
Engineer Bhutta stated that all Executive Engineers (XENs) and Sub-Divisional Officers (SDOs) across the MEPCO Muzaffargarh Circle have been directed to maintain close coordination with Imambargah administrations, Majalis organizers, procession organizers, and licensed stakeholders. The objective is to promptly address all electricity-related issues and remove any obstacles that could affect power supply arrangements during Muharram-ul-Haram.
Meeting with Procession Organizers
The Superintendent Engineer made these remarks during a meeting with a delegation of licensed procession holders and organizers from Muzaffargarh. During the meeting, delegation members highlighted several electricity-related concerns and complaints. In response, Engineer Muhammad Waseem Akhtar immediately instructed the relevant officers to ensure their prompt resolution.
He further directed field officers to keep transformers and transformer trolleys in a constant state of readiness across all subdivisions. This measure ensures that, in the event of an emergency, transformer failure, or any technical fault, replacement transformers can be installed without delay to restore electricity supply swiftly.
Round-the-Clock Complaint Centers
Engineer Muhammad Waseem Akhtar also announced that complaint centers and Customer Facilitation Centers (CFCs) established at sub-divisional, divisional, and circle levels will remain operational round the clock in three shifts throughout Muharram. Staff will remain fully alert and available to ensure the immediate resolution of consumer complaints.
Safety Measures for Line Staff
Issuing special instructions to line staff, he emphasized strict compliance with all safety regulations and operational procedures while working on power lines. He further directed that the use of safety equipment and tools (T&P) must be ensured at all times during field operations to prevent any untoward incidents.
