Sindh and Turkiye Forge Stronger Economic Ties

In a significant move to bolster foreign investment, the Special Assistant to the Chief Minister of Sindh for Investment and Public-Private Partnership, Syed Qasim Naveed Qamar, held a high-level meeting with the Consul General of the Republic of Turkiye in Karachi, Ergul Kadak, on Wednesday. The meeting, which also included Turkish Commercial Attaché Murat Ozmen, centered on enhancing bilateral investment and exploring the vast economic potential within the province of Sindh.

Showcasing Sindh's Premier Investment Projects

During the discussions, SACM Syed Qasim Naveed Qamar provided a comprehensive briefing to the Turkish delegation on several flagship initiatives of the Sindh government. He highlighted key projects including the Dhabeji Special Economic Zone, the ambitious Karachi Education City, Marble City Karachi, and the Khairpur Special Economic Zone. Qamar emphasized the dynamic role of the Public Private Partnership Unit of Sindh, assuring the guests of immense and lucrative investment opportunities available under this model.

The Turkish Consul General, Ergul Kadak, expressed a profound interest, particularly in the Karachi Education City project, signaling a strong intent for future collaboration. The Sindh government's representative further elaborated on promising sectors ripe for investment, which span across:

Infrastructure and Future Economic Zones

Adding depth to the presentation, Qasim Naveed Qamar informed the delegation about the establishment of the Sindh Transmission and Dispatch Company, a crucial entity that provides essential facilities to power generation companies, thereby strengthening the energy infrastructure. He also shed light on the substantial production of dates in Khairpur district, pointing out untapped potential for investment in this agri-sector.

Looking ahead, he revealed the provincial government's commitment to establishing a Special Economic Zone in Hyderabad, where companies manufacturing motorcycles and electric appliances have already shown keen preliminary interest. The meeting was also attended by Secretary Investment Sindh Raja Khurram Shahzad and Additional Secretary Investment Department Behzad Memon, underscoring its importance.
