The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) on Monday issued a show-cause notice to the Chief Executive Officer of Veteran Enclave Limited over alleged illegal marketing and sale of plots in an unapproved housing scheme in the Taxila area. According to official sources, the notice was issued on the directives of Commissioner Rawalpindi Division and Director General RDA Engineer Aamir Khattak, as part of ongoing action against illegal and unapproved housing schemes operating within the region.
Allegations of Unlawful Activities
The authority stated that the notice pertains to alleged unlawful advertisement campaigns, including promotional activity on social media platforms, and the sale of residential plots without obtaining the mandatory No Objection Certificate (NOC) or approval from the relevant regulatory authority. The RDA has intensified monitoring of housing schemes suspected of operating without regulatory approval, with the Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering (MP&TE) Directorate leading the oversight.
Regulatory Crackdown Intensifies
This action is part of a broader crackdown by the RDA against illegal housing schemes in the Rawalpindi division. Commissioner Rawalpindi Division and DG RDA Engineer Aamir Khattak have directed strict enforcement to protect buyers from fraudulent schemes. The show-cause notice requires the CEO of Veteran Enclave Limited to respond within a stipulated time, explaining why legal action should not be taken against the company.
Officials said the MP&TE Directorate has intensified monitoring of housing schemes suspected of operating without regulatory approval. The RDA has warned that any unauthorized marketing or sale of plots will result in severe penalties, including potential cancellation of project approvals and legal proceedings against responsible individuals.
