Muhammad Tahir, a young entrepreneur from Battagram, has been awarded a Rs50,000 cash grant to help scale his locally manufactured products into national markets after presenting an innovative business idea at the Metrix Pakistan Youth Summit – 8th Edition. The award was presented by Deputy Commissioner Battagram Muhammad Shoaib and Tehsil Nazim Muhammad Khan Tarand during the summit held at Hazara University Battagram Campus. Director of the campus Dr Tariq Anwar Khan also attended the ceremony.
Grant Details and Business Expansion
The grant, announced by C-Suite Nexus Global Chief Executive Officer Qaisar Akash Khan, will be used to develop an e-commerce website, enabling Tahir to market and sell his products across Pakistan. Tahir operates a small manufacturing startup producing cups and other locally made household items. Organisers said the financial support was intended to help transform a community-based enterprise into a digitally accessible business with a wider customer base.
Official Support for Youth Entrepreneurship
Advisor to the Chief Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Taj Muhammad Khan Tarand welcomed the initiative, saying young people in remote districts possessed significant entrepreneurial potential and deserved greater access to mentorship, innovation and practical support. “Encouraging young entrepreneurs strengthens local economies and creates opportunities for self-employment,” he said, adding that such initiatives enable talented youth to convert promising ideas into sustainable businesses.
Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Shoaib said the district administration remained committed to promoting youth-led innovation and constructive economic activities. He noted that platforms such as the Metrix Pakistan Youth Summit connected aspiring entrepreneurs with industry leaders, government officials and business experts, providing valuable exposure and networking opportunities.
Local Economic Impact and Digital Transformation
Tehsil Nazim Muhammad Khan Tarand described the recognition of local talent as essential for the district’s economic development, observing that small enterprises could make a meaningful contribution to Battagram’s economy when supported through digital access and institutional backing. Dr Tariq Anwar Khan reaffirmed Hazara University Battagram Campus’s commitment to fostering entrepreneurship and youth development, saying universities had a vital role in linking students and emerging business owners with new ideas, professional guidance and growth opportunities.
Explaining the purpose of the award, C-Suite Nexus Global CEO Qaisar Akash Khan said the grant was designed to support a practical business model and accelerate its transition from a local enterprise to a national brand through digital technology. He said Muhammad Tahir’s venture reflected the creativity and determination of Battagram’s youth, demonstrating how innovation and local manufacturing could generate economic value despite limited resources. He also urged the private sector to invest in young entrepreneurs through mentorship, market linkages and digital transformation initiatives.
Summit Context and Broader Mission
Held at Hazara University Battagram Campus on June 15, the Metrix Pakistan Youth Summit – 8th Edition brought together students, entrepreneurs, educators, government officials and industry specialists to discuss technology, leadership, innovation and future career opportunities.
