Dar Chairs High-Level Meeting on Port Connectivity

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on Saturday emphasized the need to improve port connectivity to maximize the benefits of Pakistan's strategic geographical location. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), Dar chaired a high-level meeting on improving port connectivity, during which participants reviewed measures to enhance the efficiency, competitiveness, and connectivity of ports.

Pakistan's Strategic Location an Asset

Dar said Pakistan's geographical location was "an asset which needs to be explored," adding that the country "lies at the crossroads of Central, South and West Asia." He stated that improving connectivity would enable Pakistan to "get maximum economic benefits."

Review of Measures to Enhance Port Efficiency

The meeting reviewed various measures to boost port efficiency and competitiveness, including infrastructure upgrades, digitalization of port processes, and improved coordination among stakeholders. Participants discussed ways to attract more transit trade and enhance Pakistan's role as a regional trade hub.
