Imam Hussain (RA) refused to pledge allegiance to Yazid ibn Muawiyah, whose rule was widely viewed by Muslims as contrary to the principles of justice, equality, and Islamic governance. Rather than compromise on truth and righteousness, Imam Hussain (RA) chose a path of principled resistance for the supremacy of Islam, despite knowing the immense challenges that lay ahead.

Accompanied by members of his family, including women and children, and a small group of loyal companions, Imam Hussain (RA) departed from the holy city of Makkah. The journey ultimately culminated in the plains of Karbala, present-day Iraq, where one of history’s most poignant tragedies unfolded.
