A one-day Teacher Training Workshop on “Creative Lesson Planning” was successfully organized at the Student Society Center, Shah Abdul Latif University (SALU), Khairpur on Sunday, to strengthen teachers’ pedagogical skills and promote innovative classroom strategies for student engagement and outcome-based learning.
Vice Chancellor’s Address
Addressing the participants, SALU Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Yousuf Khushk said teaching is a mission of shaping minds and building society’s future. He stressed the growing need for creativity, communication skills, practical teaching strategies, and continuous professional development in modern education. “SALU believes in empowering teachers through capacity-building. Better teachers create better classrooms and contribute to a stronger nation,” he added.
Technical Session by Life Skills Trainer
Renowned life skills trainer Ms. Rehana Gul Muhammad conducted the technical session. She delivered an interactive training on contemporary teaching methodologies and creative lesson planning techniques. Participants were introduced to SMART Objectives - Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound - to help formulate effective learning outcomes. The trainer also explained the LCT Teaching Tool: Listen, Connect, and Trust, highlighting active listening, teacher-student relationships, and trust-building in classrooms.
Johari Window Model and Activities
The Johari Window Model was also covered, focusing on self-awareness, communication, constructive feedback, and professional growth. Teachers took part in discussions, reflective exercises, and group activities throughout the session.
Coordination and Closing Ceremony
Prof. Dr. Agha Nadia coordinated the workshop, while Ms. Paras Niaz organized the event and concluded it with a vote of thanks. At the closing ceremony, Dr. Yousuf Khushk applauded the organizing team’s efforts, distributed certificates to participants, and appreciated their commitment to professional growth.
Attendance and Participation
Over 30 participants, including teachers, fresh graduates, teaching assistants, and educators from various institutions and nearby schools, attended. Faculty members including Ms. Shumaila Rubab and students were also present.
