Sindh Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah formally upgraded the Government Girls Lower Secondary School in Tando Mir Ghulam Hussain, Latifabad, Hyderabad, to a Government Girls High School during a visit on Monday. The minister was accompanied by Mayor Kashif Shoro and officials of the Education Department.
International Recognition and Student Achievements
Speaking on the occasion, Shah said the school had brought international recognition to Sindh and Pakistan through the outstanding achievements of its students, setting a remarkable example for educational institutions. The headmistress briefed the minister about students' performances in various national and international competitions. Interacting with the students, Shah commended their hard work, talent and exceptional achievements.
Infrastructure Upgrades and STEM Lab
The minister directed Education Works Department officials to take necessary measures for the construction of additional classrooms and the establishment of a STEM laboratory at the school. These initiatives aim to enhance the learning environment and provide modern facilities for students.
Community Participation Emphasized
During the visit, parents met the education minister and expressed their satisfaction and appreciation for the government's special attention to the school and development initiatives. Sardar Ali Shah emphasized that government schools cannot be improved without active community participation. He urged members of the community to consider the supervision and support of their local schools as a national responsibility.
The upgrade from a lower secondary to a high school marks a significant milestone for the institution, which has produced students who have excelled internationally. The minister's directives for additional classrooms and a STEM lab are expected to further elevate the school's standards.
