The sixth death anniversary of iconic radio and television anchor Tariq Aziz is being observed today. Tariq Aziz was born in Jalandhar on April 28, 1936. He began his career with Radio Pakistan in the 1960s as a host and became Pakistan's first male announcer and premier television host.

Neelam Ghar and Legacy

Tariq Aziz was best known for his work on PTV's quiz show Neelam Ghar, which first aired in 1974. The show continued for decades under the titles 'Tariq Aziz Show' and 'Bazm-e-Tariq Aziz'. He also acted in several films, including Chiragh Kahan Roshni Kahan, Salgirah, Qasam Us Waqt Ki, Katari, Haar Gaya Insan, and Insaniyat.

Awards and Recognition

In 1994, he was awarded the Pride of Performance for his services to the entertainment industry. Tariq Aziz passed away on this day in 2020 at the age of 84 in Lahore.
