The Ministry of Interior's General Directorate of Medical Services has established a comprehensive healthcare system for this year's Hajj, featuring a fully equipped field hospital in Arafat. The facility serves over 1.7 million pilgrims, ensuring their safety and well-being throughout the pilgrimage.
Facility Features and Capabilities
The field hospital includes an intensive care unit, operating theaters, isolation units, and heat stress treatment rooms. Specialized teams work around the clock to provide rapid emergency response. Mustafa Baljoon, supervisor of the Security Forces Hospital program in Makkah, stated that the facility houses 250 physicians, nurses, and support staff, making it a key medical hub for security personnel and pilgrims alike.
Bed Capacity and Services
The hospital offers 110 beds designated for emergency cases, heat stress, cardiac resuscitation, and isolation. Located in front of Namirah Mosque, where large numbers of pilgrims gather, the facility operates 24 hours a day. Doctors can also provide remote consultations to medical teams in the field, enabling timely diagnoses and treatment decisions.
Mobile Support and Government Commitment
A mobile field clinic equipped with advanced technologies has been deployed to ensure rapid support for the huge numbers of Hajj pilgrims. These efforts are part of a broader government system aligned with leadership directives to provide the highest levels of healthcare, security, and organizational support. This allows pilgrims to perform their rituals with ease and peace of mind.
