Street Lights Installed on GIMS Hospital Road

In a significant development aimed at enhancing public access to healthcare facilities, modern street lights have been installed along the newly constructed Main Rohri Canal Bridge Road leading to the Gambat Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS). The installation was completed this week, following the recent construction of the road, which serves as a key access route for thousands of patients and attendants visiting the hospital daily.

Improved Safety for Night Travel

Director of GIMS Hospital, Dr. Rahim Bux Bhatti, stated on Monday that the initiative would ensure safer travel for patients, attendants, and residents, particularly during night hours. He emphasized that the hospital's priority extends beyond providing quality healthcare to ensuring that people can reach the facility safely and without difficulty. The illuminated road is expected to reduce risks for ambulances and private vehicles transporting patients from Gambat and surrounding areas in the Khairpur and Sukkur districts.

Supporting Infrastructure Development

A media consultant from GIMS highlighted that the street lighting would contribute to safer nighttime travel, benefiting both emergency and routine visits. GIMS, a major tertiary care hospital in upper Sindh, handles a large volume of emergency and outpatient cases daily. The hospital administration noted that improving infrastructure around the facility remains a key part of its public welfare efforts. The road project and street lighting are expected to facilitate round-the-clock access to the hospital, ensuring that patients and visitors can travel safely at any time.
