LAHORE: Disciplinary action has been taken against a doctor for allegedly uploading objectionable content on social media, with Nishtar Hospital Multan terminating the house job of Dr Ali Osama. A spokesperson for the Department of Specialised Healthcare and Medical Education stated that no healthcare professional is permitted to post objectionable material on social media platforms, as it violates professional ethics and government regulations. Dr Ali Osama was serving as a paid house officer at Nishtar Hospital Multan when he allegedly uploaded objectionable content on his social media account.
This decision underscores the zero-tolerance policy of the healthcare department towards any misconduct that tarnishes the reputation of the medical profession. The authorities have reiterated that strict action will be taken against any employee found violating the code of conduct. The termination serves as a warning to other healthcare professionals to adhere to ethical standards both online and offline.
