Family Poisoned by Lizard in Food, Seven Hospitalized in Kandhkot Village
In a distressing incident in Kandhkot, at least seven members of a family fell unconscious on Tuesday after consuming poisonous food, according to local villagers. The event occurred in village Peer Jaan Bajkani near Ghouspur town, with the victims including women and children, which escalated the severity of the situation.
Immediate Symptoms and Emergency Response
Shortly after eating the contaminated meal, the family members began exhibiting severe signs of illness, such as vomiting and loss of consciousness. This prompted an immediate response from nearby individuals who rushed to assist. The affected individuals were identified as minor girl Ayat, Sazu Alim Deen, Faheem, Mai Seabani, and Islam u Deen. They were quickly transported to a nearby hospital for urgent medical treatment.
The medical team at the hospital acted swiftly to stabilize the patients, providing critical care to manage the poisoning. Following the incident, a large crowd gathered at the hospital, including other family members and relatives of the victims, expressing concern and support.
Cause of Contamination and Community Impact
Family members later disclosed that a lizard was discovered in the food, which is believed to have caused the contamination. This revelation underscores the importance of vigilance and hygiene in food preparation to prevent such health risks.
