Gambat Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS) Director Capt (retd) Dr Raheem Bux Bhatti on Monday issued directives to provide the best medical facilities to participants of processions during Muharram-ul-Haram. Special arrangements have been made at GIMS hospital for the 6th, 8th, 9th, and 10th of Muharram, including the allocation of special beds and a comprehensive duty roster for indoor, operating theaters, and pharmacies.
24-Hour Emergency and Security Staffing
In the emergency ward, paramedical staff including medical, nursing, paramedical, and support staff will perform 24-hour duties. Dr Bhatti also confirmed that security staff would be on duty around the clock during Muharram to ensure safety within the hospital premises.
Ensuring Availability of Medical Supplies
Dr Raheem Bux Bhatti added that the availability of medicines, vaccines, IV fluids, surgical and non-surgical disposables, and blood bags would be ensured at GIMS hospital throughout Muharram. Operation theaters will remain fully operational, and ambulances staffed with trained personnel will be on standby. The hospital's helpline number will be fully operational to coordinate arrangements during the holy month.

In a related development, the Assistant Commissioner (AC) of Vehari reviewed arrangements for Muharram-ul-Haram in his district, ensuring that all necessary measures are in place to support the observance.
