Deputy Commissioner Sanghar Sarah Javed chaired a meeting on Monday to review the progress of the recent immunisation and anti-polio campaign in the district. The session was attended by health department officials, assistant commissioners, representatives of social organisations, and other relevant departments.
Challenges and Coordination Discussed
The meeting addressed challenges faced during the campaign and explored measures to overcome them through coordinated efforts. Participants reiterated their commitment to ensuring that every child across Sanghar receives polio drops and routine immunisation vaccines. Deputy Commissioner Sarah Javed stated, "Every child in Sanghar is important, and the administration wants to see all children healthy and protected from preventable diseases." She directed health officials, parents, and concerned departments to work together to ensure no child is left unvaccinated.
Emphasis on Eradication and Child Health
Javed emphasised that collective efforts and effective coordination among all stakeholders are essential for the complete eradication of polio and improvement of child health services in the district. The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner-I Abdul Majeed Zehrani, Civil Surgeon Dr Aftab Azam Sariwal, N-STOP Dr Didar Khaskheli, World Health Organisation representative Bilal Ahmed, all assistant commissioners, and other concerned officials.
Opposition Alliance Alleges Interference
Separately, the opposition alliance has alleged that police prevented leaders from travelling to Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), though this matter was not discussed during Sanghar's immunisation review meeting.
