RENALA KHURD - Deputy Commissioner (DC) Okara, Ahmed Usman Javed, along with District Police Officer (DPO) Dr. Asad Ijaz Malhi, visited Shergarh on Thursday to review arrangements for the holy month of Muharram.
Inspection of Procession Routes and Imambargahs
During the visit, they inspected the routes of the main Muharram processions and Imambargahs. They directed authorities to ensure the best possible facilities for mourners participating in religious gatherings.
Cleanliness and Sanitation Measures
The DC instructed authorities to maintain cleanliness along procession routes, including sanitation measures and water sprinkling to minimize dust. He emphasized the need for a clean environment for the participants.
Health Camps and Essential Services
He directed the establishment of health camps, provision of Sabeels (free drinking water stalls), and uninterrupted electricity supply during Muharram events. These measures aim to facilitate mourners and ensure their well-being.
Promotion of Religious Harmony
The deputy commissioner and the district police officer stressed the importance of promoting religious devotion, mutual respect, and harmony during the holy month. They emphasized that all necessary administrative and security arrangements should be completed to maintain peace and facilitate mourners.
