PM Shehbaz Applauds MQM-P's Role in National Development

ISLAMABAD - Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday appreciated MQM-P’s role as a vital ally in the ruling coalition, highlighting the party’s positive and constructive contributions to national development, economic stability, and public welfare.

During a meeting with a delegation of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) at the Prime Minister’s Office, the prime minister reaffirmed the significance of coalition partners in advancing the government’s agenda focused on economic stability, development, and public welfare, according to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office.

The MQM-P delegation was led by the party’s Convener and Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training, Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui. The delegation also included Federal Minister for National Health Services Syed Mustafa Kamal and Members of the National Assembly Farooq Sattar, Aminul Haque, and Javed Hanif.

“MQM-P is an important coalition partner of the government, and its positive and constructive contribution towards achieving the agenda of national development, economic stability and public welfare is commendable,” the prime minister said.

He expressed confidence that the spirit of cooperation between the government and its coalition partners would continue in the future in the larger national interest and for the service of the people.

The meeting featured a detailed discussion on the federal budget for the fiscal year 2026-27, with both sides exchanging views on economic priorities and measures aimed at sustaining growth and providing relief to the public. The participants also reviewed the country’s overall political situation and discussed matters of mutual interest.

Federal Ministers Ahsan Iqbal, Azam Nazeer Tarar, Ahad Cheema, Attaullah Tarar, and the Prime Minister’s Adviser on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah were also present during the meeting.
