Pakistan, Gansu Province Discuss Cooperation in Agriculture, Mining

Pakistan's Ambassador to China Khalil Hashmi held a meeting with Governor of Gansu Province Ren Zhenhe in Lanzhou, during which both sides discussed ways to further strengthen practical cooperation in agriculture, mining, new energy, equipment manufacturing and vocational training.

Condolences and Bilateral Discussions

At the outset of the meeting, Ambassador Hashmi conveyed Pakistan's sincere condolences over the loss of lives in the recent landslide in Tanchang County. The two sides also exchanged views on expanding educational and technical cooperation to further strengthen bilateral ties.

Proposal for Sister-Province Mechanism

During the meeting, Ambassador Hashmi proposed the establishment of a sister-province friendship mechanism between Pakistan and Gansu Province to promote subnational cooperation. The proposal was welcomed by the Gansu provincial leadership.

Recognition at Lanzhou Investment and Trade Fair

The ambassador thanked the Gansu provincial government for designating Pakistan as the Guest Country of Honor at the 32nd Lanzhou Investment and Trade Fair, terming it a reflection of the longstanding friendship and growing partnership between Pakistan and China.

Later, Ambassador Hashmi attended the welcome banquet hosted by the Gansu provincial leadership for participants of the 32nd Lanzhou Investment and Trade Fair.
