Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Istanbul on Friday for a bilateral visit to Türkiye at the invitation of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The visit aims to strengthen cooperation in trade, investment, and regional security, according to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office.

Arrival and Reception

Upon his arrival at Atatürk Airport, the prime minister was received by Türkiye’s Minister of Trade, Professor Dr. Ömer Bolat, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Türkiye Dr. Yousaf Junaid, and senior officials from the Turkish Foreign Ministry and the Pakistani Embassy. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar and Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar are accompanying the prime minister during the visit.

Talks with President Erdogan

During his stay in Istanbul, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will hold comprehensive talks with President Erdogan covering the full spectrum of Pakistan-Türkiye bilateral relations. The two leaders are expected to place particular emphasis on expanding cooperation in trade and investment while exploring new avenues for economic collaboration. The meeting will also include an exchange of views on regional peace and security, reflecting the close strategic partnership between the two countries.

Business Conference and Investment Promotion

As part of his engagements, the prime minister will address a business conference hosted by Pakistan, where he will showcase the country’s investment potential in Special Economic Zones (SEZs), energy, information technology, privatization, and other key sectors. This initiative underscores Pakistan's commitment to attracting foreign investment and enhancing economic ties with Türkiye.
