Syrian Health Minister Visits Bombing Victims, Vows Care

Syrian Health Minister Musab Al-Ali visited victims of Thursday’s terrorist bombing in Damascus who are receiving treatment at Damascus Hospital, reaffirming the government’s commitment to providing comprehensive medical care.

Minister Directs Full Medical Resources

During the visit on Friday, Al-Ali toured hospital wards, met with several of the injured, and received briefings from medical staff on their conditions and treatment plans. He directed hospital staff to provide all necessary medical resources to ensure the highest standard of care and commended medical and emergency teams for their rapid response following the attack.

Bombing Details and Casualties

The bombing, which targeted a cafe near the Palace of Justice in Damascus on Thursday, killed 10 people and injured 21 others, prompting widespread Arab and international condemnation.

International Condemnation

Saudi Arabia on Friday condemned the attack. In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the Kingdom stands in solidarity with Syria against all forms of violence, extremism and terrorism. It also offered condolences to the families of the victims and to the Syrian government and people, wishing the injured a speedy recovery.

The International Commission for the Protection of Civilians condemned the attack, expressing full solidarity with Syria and supporting legal measures taken by relevant authorities to protect civilians and maintain public order. In a statement, the commission said attacks on civilians and public spaces constitute terrorism under international legal and humanitarian frameworks and can never be justified. It called for accountability for those responsible, including entities that finance or support such acts, and urged stronger international cooperation to disrupt sources of terrorist funding.

Bahrain’s Foreign Ministry said the kingdom stands in full solidarity with Syria and supports efforts to strengthen security, stability and development, while preserving Syria’s sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity. It reiterated Bahrain’s rejection of all forms of terrorism and violence targeting civilians.

South Korea’s Embassy in Damascus expressed “deep concern” over the terrorist bombing, extending condolences to the victims’ families and wishing a speedy recovery for the injured. It reaffirmed solidarity with Syria and its people in a statement posted on X.

The Japanese Embassy in Syria said in a post on X that it “strongly condemns” the explosion. It extended condolences to the victims’ families and wished the injured a swift recovery.
