Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on Tuesday strongly condemned the terrorist attack in the Mangi Phase III area of Quetta. In a statement, she paid glowing tribute to the police personnel who embraced martyrdom while successfully foiling the terrorist attack, describing their sacrifice as exemplary and unforgettable. She extended her heartfelt condolences and sympathies to the bereaved families and prayed for the early recovery of those injured in the attack.
CM's Resolve Against Terrorism
“The fight against terrorism is a battle for our survival. There will be no compromise or weakening in our unwavering resolve to eradicate this menace,” the chief minister said. The entire nation salutes the supreme sacrifice rendered by the martyred police personnel in the line of duty, she added.
Tribute to Havaldar Lalak Jan Shaheed
On the same day, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif paid glowing tribute to Nishan-i-Haider recipient Havaldar Lalak Jan Shaheed on his martyrdom anniversary. She said his unmatched courage, steadfastness and supreme sacrifice in defence of the motherland would forever remain a source of inspiration for the nation.
In a message issued on the occasion, the chief minister said Havaldar Lalak Jan Shaheed thwarted the enemy’s nefarious designs despite sustaining severe injuries, displaying extraordinary bravery and unwavering commitment to the country’s defence. She said the valiant soldier set the highest example of courage, resilience and patriotism, adding that Havaldar Lalak Jan Shaheed was a national hero whose memory would always live in the hearts of people.
Honouring Martyrs
CM Maryam Nawaz said the martyrs who laid down their lives for the security and sovereignty of the motherland were the pride, honour and true defenders of the nation. She added that the sacrifices rendered by the country’s brave soldiers could never be repaid and would always be remembered with profound respect and gratitude. The CM said that the nation salutes its martyrs and remains committed to honouring their unparalleled sacrifices for the defence and dignity of Pakistan.
