Five Arrested for Torturing Teen, Making Viral Video

Jand police have arrested five men for allegedly torturing a teenage boy, filming the assault, making the video viral on social media, and keeping him in illegal confinement. The accused have been identified as Nazakat, Zeeshan, Hizbullah, Muqarab and Abdul Rehman, all residents of village Kot Chajji. A case has been registered against them under sections 292 and 342 of the Pakistan Penal Code.

Details of the Incident

According to the FIR, which has been registered on the information of Sub Inspector Khaliq uz Zaman Incharge Police Check Post Nara, the victim, Shahzeb son of Muhammad Ashraf, a resident of Haji Camp, Peshawar, was allegedly tortured by the accused inside an abandoned building on Namal Road, within the limits of Jand police station. Police said the accused not only assaulted the teenager but also made a video of the torture and circulated it online. The video quickly went viral and drew public outrage.

Police Action and Arrests

Taking swift notice of the viral clip, police launched an immediate operation and arrested all five suspects. They have been sent behind bars and further investigation is underway. District Police Officer Attock Sardar Mavarhan Khan said such illegal acts will not be tolerated in the district. “Those who take the law into their own hands and resort to violence will face the music,” the DPO stated. “Protecting citizens, especially minors, is our top priority and strict legal action will be ensured against all those involved.”

Legal Charges and Public Response

Section 342 of the Pakistan Penal Code relates to wrongful confinement, while section 292 pertains to offenses involving obscene acts and material. Local residents welcomed the police action and said prompt arrests send a strong message that violence and online harassment of any citizen will be dealt with firmly under the law. Police have appealed to the public to report any such incidents immediately so that timely action can be taken.
