Pakistan Prepares for SCO Chairmanship and 2027 Summit
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar chaired the fourth meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Follow-Up Committee on Monday to review preparations for Pakistan's upcoming SCO Council of Heads of State (CHS) chairmanship for 2026–27 and the CHS Summit to be hosted in Islamabad in 2027.
Sub-Committees Brief on Progress
During the meeting, various sub-committees briefed the attendees on progress regarding venue arrangements, accommodation, security, finance, media management, transport, and logistics for delegations visiting for the SCO CHS Summit. The committee assessed the readiness of each sector and identified areas requiring further attention.
Direction to Expedite Work
The Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister directed the concerned heads of the sub-committees to expedite their work to ensure timely completion of all preparations. He emphasized the importance of seamless coordination among all stakeholders to host a successful summit.
