Hamas Says Acceptable Approaches Reached on Gaza Ceasefire Contentious Issues
Hamas: Acceptable Approaches on Gaza Ceasefire Issues

The Palestinian movement Hamas stated on Tuesday that "acceptable approaches" had been achieved regarding the "contentious issues" of a Gaza ceasefire agreement with Israel, following negotiations in Cairo. Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qassem informed Anadolu Agency that discussions in the Egyptian capital resulted in "acceptable approaches from the parties participating in the talks concerning the contentious issues of the ceasefire agreement."

Flexibility and Positivity in Negotiations

Qassem emphasized that Hamas and other Palestinian factions engaged with the proposals presented by mediators from Egypt, Qatar, and Türkiye "with flexibility and positivity, out of a national responsibility to stop the genocide in Gaza." He added, "The ball is now in the court of the [Israeli] occupation and the Board of Peace, represented by its executive director Nickolay Mladenov, in order to move toward real and full implementation of President Trump's vision for peace in the Strip."

Continued Casualties Despite Ceasefire

According to Palestinian figures, Israel's genocidal campaign in Gaza since October 2023 has killed nearly 73,000 Palestinians and injured more than 173,000, most of whom are women and children. Despite a ceasefire that took effect on October 10, 2025, the Israeli army has killed 978 Palestinians and injured 3,097 others in near-daily attacks, as reported by the Gaza Health Ministry. These ongoing assaults underscore the fragility of the truce and the urgent need for a comprehensive agreement.
