Iran Launches Attacks on US Bases in Retaliation for Strikes on Southern Iran
Iran Attacks US Bases After American Strikes on Southern Iran

Iran's military headquarters announced early Wednesday that attacks had been launched on several US bases in the region in retaliation for American strikes on southern Iran. The Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters issued a statement confirming that the attacks were a direct response to US strikes targeting areas in Jask, Sirik, and Qeshm in southern Iran. The headquarters warned that “heavier and broader” attacks would follow if the United States continues its aggression against Iran.

The announcement came after Iranian media reported explosions and projectile strikes in several areas of southern Hormozgan province. State television later reported that the situation had become “nearly calm.”

US Self-Defense Strikes

US Central Command (CENTCOM) later announced the completion of what it described as “self-defense” strikes against Iran. CENTCOM stated that US fighter jets struck Iranian air defense systems and radar sites near the Strait of Hormuz. These strikes were in response to the downing of a US Army Apache helicopter in a previous incident.

Escalating Tensions

The exchange of attacks marks a significant escalation in tensions between the United States and Iran. The Iranian military has made it clear that any further US aggression will be met with stronger retaliation. Meanwhile, the US has justified its actions as necessary self-defense measures to protect its forces in the region.
