Iranian FM returns to Islamabad after Oman, to travel to Moscow

Islamabad: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has arrived in Islamabad once again after completing his visit to Oman. According to Iranian media reports, instead of traveling directly to Moscow after his Oman visit, Abbas Araghchi returned to Pakistan and is expected to leave for Russia after a brief stay in Islamabad.

Details of the Visit

Sources stated that the Iranian Foreign Minister’s aircraft is also arriving in Islamabad from Tehran, and he will depart for Moscow after staying for a few hours. It is worth mentioning that Abbas Araghchi had earlier visited Islamabad for consultations regarding negotiations, during which he held meetings with Pakistan’s Army Chief, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, along with other senior officials.

Appreciation for Pakistan

During those meetings, he appreciated Pakistan’s efforts for maintaining peace and described his visit to Pakistan as highly productive. He had also stated that Iran has presented its position regarding a workable framework for a permanent end to the conflict, while emphasizing that it remains to be seen how serious the United States is about diplomacy.
