Delegations from OIC member states have arrived in Pakistan to participate in the 9th OIC Ministerial Conference on Women, scheduled to take place on July 12–13. Pakistan is hosting the conference, which will bring together ministers, senior officials, and representatives of international organizations.
Conference Focus on Women's Empowerment
The conference will focus on advancing women’s social, economic, and political empowerment, while reviewing progress made in women’s development and sharing best national practices among member states. Minister of State Barrister Aqeel Malik, Saba Sadiq, Farah Naz Akbar, and senior government officials welcomed the visiting delegations upon their arrival.
Pakistan's Commitment and Leadership
Pakistan considers it an honor to host the conference and will reaffirm its commitment to promoting women’s rights, dignity, and empowerment across OIC member states. Federal Minister for Law and Justice Azam Nazeer Tarar will serve as the conference chair. During its presidency, Pakistan aims to strengthen cooperation among OIC member states and help develop a future roadmap for collaboration on women’s issues.
Official Welcome Extended
The Government of Pakistan has extended a warm welcome to all participating delegations. Managing population growth is also highlighted as vital for achieving climate resilience, according to the climate ministry.
