PM Shehbaz Leaves for China on Four-Day Official Visit

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has departed for Hangzhou on the first leg of his four-day official visit to China. He is accompanied by a high-level delegation comprising Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, Minister for Information Technology Shaza Fatima, and Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi.

Engagements in Hangzhou

Upon arrival in Hangzhou, the Prime Minister will meet with the Party Secretary of Zhejiang Province. He will attend a business forum designed to enhance cooperation between Pakistani and Chinese enterprises under the second phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). Additionally, a ceremony for the exchange of agreements and memoranda of understanding will be held. The Prime Minister will also hold meetings with CEOs of prominent Chinese companies, visit the headquarters of Alibaba, and attend a signing ceremony for cooperation memoranda.

Visit to Beijing

Following his engagements in Hangzhou, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will proceed to Beijing. In the capital, he will hold bilateral meetings with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang. A key highlight of the visit will be an event commemorating the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China. The Prime Minister will also meet with heads of other major Chinese companies and visit the China Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS).

Strengthening Bilateral Ties

The visit underscores the enduring strategic partnership between Pakistan and China, with a focus on expanding economic cooperation, particularly under CPEC Phase 2. The high-level interactions are expected to yield new agreements and further solidify the all-weather friendship between the two nations.
