Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will embark on a four-day official visit to China starting Saturday, as announced by Foreign Office Spokesperson Tahir Andrabi during his weekly news briefing in Islamabad. The visit aims to reaffirm the enduring strength of the Pakistan-China all-weather strategic partnership and advance a shared vision of building an even closer Pakistan-China community with a shared future.
Meetings with Chinese Leadership
During the visit, the Prime Minister will hold meetings with Chinese leadership, including President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Li Qiang. The two sides will review bilateral relations and cooperation in political, economic, and strategic domains, with particular focus on high-quality development, trade, investment, industrial cooperation, agricultural modernization, information technology, science and technology, and people-to-people exchanges.
Itinerary Highlights
The Prime Minister will begin his visit from Hangzhou in Zhejiang Province, where he will chair the Pakistan-China Business-to-Business Investment Conference on IT, Telecom, Energy, Energy Storage, and Agriculture. In Beijing, he will attend a reception hosted by the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries to commemorate the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China.
The visit is expected to further strengthen and deepen political trust and strategic coordination, expand practical cooperation, and consolidate the longstanding friendship between the two countries.
