The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee is set to convene on Monday (today) for the sighting of the Muharram-ul-Haram 1448 AH moon, marking the beginning of the new Islamic year. The meeting will be chaired by Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, Chairman of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, and will take place at Iqbal Hall, Badshahi Mosque in Lahore, as per an official announcement.
Committee Meetings Across the Country
In addition to the central meeting, the Islamabad Zonal Committee will hold its session after Maghrib prayers in the Kohsar Block. The final decision regarding the sighting of the Muharram-ul-Haram 1448 Hijri moon will be based on testimonies received from various regions across Pakistan.

Muharram is the first month of the Islamic lunar calendar and holds great religious significance for Muslims worldwide. The sighting of the moon determines the start of this sacred month, during which many observances and commemorations take place.
