Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan received his Swedish counterpart Maria Malmer Stenergard in Riyadh on Tuesday for talks aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and addressing key regional challenges.
Bilateral Cooperation Discussed
The two ministers reviewed existing ties and explored ways to enhance cooperation across various fields, according to a statement from the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs on X. The meeting underscored the commitment of both nations to deepen their partnership.
Regional Security and Humanitarian Issues
Sweden reaffirmed its condemnation of Iranian attacks and expressed solidarity with affected countries. The Swedish side stressed the importance of restoring freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz to protect the global economy from the impact of the current situation.
The discussions also covered the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, Israeli violations of the ceasefire in Lebanon, and the urgent need for intensified international efforts to prevent further escalation, preserve regional security and stability, and avoid widening the conflict.
