Committee Finalises Actionable Recommendations
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar chaired a meeting of the Committee on Improving Government Efficiency on Friday, which finalised actionable recommendations prepared by five sub-working groups, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA).
Key Areas of Reform
The committee discussed, deliberated, and finalised recommendations on restructuring of the federal secretariat, upgradation of e-office into a decision-making processing system, transformation of the MS wing, reforming the performance evaluation report (PER) system, and developing a whole-of-government approach.
"The recommendations will be presented to the prime minister for consideration," MoFA added in a post on X.
Meeting Participants
The meeting was attended by the ministers for petroleum and information technology and telecommunication, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Bajwa, the federal secretaries of cabinet, establishment, economic affairs and telecommunication, as well as other relevant stakeholders.
SCO Preparations Progress
On Monday, Dar chaired the fourth meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Follow-up Committee to review preparations for Pakistan's upcoming SCO Council of Heads of State (CHS) chairmanship for 2026-27 and the CHS Summit to be hosted in Islamabad in 2027. Sub-committees briefed the meeting on progress regarding venue, accommodation, security, finance, media management, transport and logistics for delegations. The DPM/FM directed the concerned heads of the sub-committees to expedite the work.
