ISLAMABAD - Pakistan’s first-ever State of Freedom Report – Pakistan 2026 will be formally launched at the Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad (ISSI) on Monday. The launch event is organized in collaboration with Mishal Pakistan, the country partner institute of the New Economy and Societies Platforms, World Economic Forum.
Comprehensive Assessment of Freedom
The “State of Freedom Report Pakistan 2026” is the country’s first comprehensive national assessment of freedom. Developed by Mishal Pakistan, the report examines political, civil, economic, digital, legal, and social freedoms by combining public perception surveys, institutional analysis, and national indicators into a single framework.
Understanding Freedom in Daily Life
It provides an evidence-based understanding of how Pakistanis experience freedom in their daily lives, exploring key themes such as constitutional rights, access to justice, media and information, digital access, economic opportunity, social inclusion, and public trust in institutions.
Objectives of the Report
The report aims to establish a locally grounded, evidence-based national baseline and benchmark for informed dialogue on freedoms, governance, citizen empowerment, institutional effectiveness, and democratic resilience in Pakistan, while also measuring progress in rights and inclusion over time.
Event Participants
The event will bring together senior government officials, parliamentarians, diplomats, academics, media leaders, civil society representatives, and policy experts to discuss the findings of the report and their implications for governance, institutional development, and national progress.
