The Punjab government has entered the final stage of preparations for the budget for the financial year 2026-27, with a strong emphasis on development schemes. The upcoming budget is set to prioritize both urban and rural areas, ensuring balanced growth across the province.

Special attention is being given to sectors such as development, infrastructure, digital Punjab, and public relief. According to official sources, the total budget of Punjab may reach nearly Rs 6 trillion, with development programs receiving extraordinary importance.
Development Budget Breakdown
The Punjab government has initially prepared an outline of a development budget of about Rs 1450 billion. If resources increase, this volume could go up to Rs 1500 billion. According to the Planning and Development Board's proposals, Rs 980 billion will be allocated for basic development programs, Rs 320 billion for other development schemes, and Rs 150 billion for projects funded by foreign assistance.
