LAHORE – Secretary/Chief Administrator Auqaf Punjab Dr Ehsan Bhutta stated on Wednesday that all available resources will be mobilized to eliminate any form of literal or conceptual distortion, as well as printing errors, in the Holy Quran. Addressing the 59th high-level meeting of the Punjab Quran Board, Dr Ehsan Bhutta announced the immediate launch of specialized training courses designed to refine the professional capabilities of proofreaders, alongside the formulation of a comprehensive set of guiding principles.
Meeting Attendees
The meeting was attended by the Chairman of the Punjab Quran Board, Hafiz Zubair Hassan, and distinguished board members including Dr. Muhammad Karim Khan, Saeed Ahmed Shah Gujrati, Dr. Mufti Intikhab Ahmed, Qari Ahmed Mian Thanvi, Maulana Tahir Aqeel Awan, Dr. Abdul Ghafoor Rashid, Dr. Allama Syed Ziaullah Shah Bukhari, Allama Muhammad Shafique Pasruri, Dr. Allama Muhammad Hussain Akbar, Mrs. Farwa Batool, Sheikh Muhammad Nazimuddin, Qudratullah, Syed Ahsan Mehmood, M. Khalid Yousuf, Rana Sikandar Amjad, and Israr Ahmed.
Directives for Monitoring and Prevention
During his address, Dr. Ehsan Bhutta issued strict directives to activate and tighten the monitoring system across the province to prevent any desecration of the Holy Quran and to ensure the preservation of its sacred copies. This will be achieved through close collaboration between the district administration and Auqaf officials. Furthermore, he emphasized keeping a vigilant eye on social media platforms to curb any malicious activities that could undermine interfaith and religious harmony.
Chairman's Remarks
Speaking on the occasion, the Chairman of the Punjab Quran Board, Hafiz Zubair Hassan, reiterated that safeguarding the text of the Holy Quran and ensuring its flawless printing in accordance with its true spirit remains their foremost religious and legal obligation. He added that all board members are performing their duties with utmost diligence, dedication, and sincerity.
Operational Enhancements
To streamline and enhance the board’s operational efficiency, the Secretary Auqaf directed the formation of specialized committees comprising board members to oversee specific Quranic affairs. He also ordered that a documented performance proforma of all progress to date be presented in the upcoming meeting. The forum extended high praise and rich tributes to the honorable members for their unwavering and sincere efforts in successfully securing legal convictions against Qadianis in cases involving the distortion of the Holy Quran, acknowledging their invaluable services to the faith.
