Much of today’s public discourse celebrates visibility, self-promotion, and personal branding. Against this backdrop, the message delivered at Habib University’s 9th Convocation was noteworthy for placing humility at the centre of leadership and learning. Addressing the graduating class, the university leadership argued that humility is not a weakness but an essential condition for intellectual growth. This perspective deserves careful reflection. In an age where opinions are often expressed with absolute certainty, the willingness to remain open to learning may be one of the most valuable qualities a graduate can possess.
