The Lahore High Court (LHC) has withdrawn its earlier decision introducing a four-day working week and has reinstated the previous schedule for courts and judicial offices. A fresh notification was issued by Registrar Raja Qamar Zaman after receiving approval from LHC Chief Justice Aalia Neelum.
Revised Working Days
Under the revised arrangement, both Friday and Saturday will once again be observed as regular working days for the Lahore High Court and district courts. According to the notification, court proceedings will continue under the earlier routine, with hearings being conducted on both days. Judicial employees working in court offices will also resume their duties on Fridays and Saturdays.
Background
The new order revokes a notification issued on March 11, under which Friday and Saturday had been declared holidays as part of a national savings policy initiative. With the latest decision, the judiciary has returned to its previous operational schedule, restoring normal court activities throughout the week.
This reversal comes as part of routine administrative adjustments to ensure efficient judicial operations. The LHC's decision ensures that court services remain accessible to the public on all regular working days.
