ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) has dismissed a complaint filed by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) against Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sikandar Sultan Raja, and has informed the party about it through a formal letter.
Complaint Submission and Review
The complaint against the CEC was submitted by former PTI Secretary General Omar Ayub. According to the contents of the letter, the council reviewed the complaint during its meeting held on February 11, 2026. The council had assigned complaint number 685/2024 to the matter.
Council's Decision
After due consideration, the SJC dismissed the complaint. The letter stated, "After due consideration, your complaint against the chief election commissioner is dismissed." The decision was communicated to the PTI leadership through official correspondence.
The dismissal marks a significant development in the ongoing political discourse, as the PTI had raised serious allegations against the CEC. The SJC's decision is final and binding, closing the matter at the judicial level.
