LAHORE: Pakistan Ulema Council (PUC) Chairman Hafiz Tahir Ashrafi stated that elements attempting to create unrest and instability in the country are acting against national interests. He emphasized that dialogue remains the only viable path for resolving political disputes. Addressing a seminar, he remarked that Pakistan has demonstrated its strength and capabilities to the world.
Call for Dialogue Over Violence
Ashrafi expressed regret that while political parties in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) are engaged in negotiations, some groups are resorting to violence instead of pursuing dialogue. He stressed that peaceful resolution through talks is essential for national cohesion.
Hostile Propaganda Against Muslims
He noted that whenever Muslims gain strength and unity, hostile forces launch baseless propaganda and disinformation campaigns to undermine them. He urged unity among Muslim nations to counter such narratives.
The PUC chairman also highlighted that Pakistan's resilience and progress have been recognized globally, and efforts to destabilize the country must be thwarted through collective action and adherence to constitutional processes.
