An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Larkana has handed down a 30-year prison sentence to Naseer Ahmed Jagirani, along with a fine of 60,000 rupees, for his role in a police encounter that occurred in 2023. The verdict was delivered on Wednesday by Judge Altaf Hussain Dayo of the ATC in Larkana, after the court found Jagirani guilty of the charges.

The case pertains to an encounter that took place in 2023 on Miro Khan Road in Larkana, within the jurisdiction of the Dhamrah police station. During the incident, police officer Asif Ali Korai sustained serious injuries. Following the encounter, law enforcement apprehended suspect Naseer Ahmed Jagirani, recovering a pistol from his possession. However, other suspects managed to escape from the scene.

Legal Proceedings

The court proceedings were conducted under the Anti-Terrorism Act, and upon establishing Jagirani's guilt, the judge sentenced him to three decades in prison. In addition to the prison term, the court imposed a fine of 60,000 rupees, which is to be paid by the convict. According to police reports, three suspects—Naseer Ahmed Jagirani, Bakhshal alias Gadu, and Waqar alias Wiko—were initially charged in two separate cases related to the encounter, including charges under Section 13-D of the relevant law.
